Guiding students in a relationship with God

We’ve gotten some questions about the upcoming Costume Ball at The ELEMENT. Here is what you need to know…

When: November 4

Where: The Extension @ Northwood Church

We want you to be as creative as possible with your costume. There are two rules however. First rule, no scary stuff. We don’t want any goblin, vampire, witch or gore type costumes. Second, appropriate costumes please. That is to say, we expect both guys and girls to be covered. If we feel as though anyone’s costume is too suggestive, we will be forced to ask that person to leave.

There will be prizes and fun games throughout the evening. This is not a “dance” per say but a night of fun activities and fellowship.

Make sure to invite a friend. See you then!

Fall has arrived and things are booming at NSM these days. We’re very excited about some upcoming events.

First off, we’re seeing more students attending NSM worship services than we’ve seen in several years. While it’s tempting to get focussed on the numbers, we know that the bigger excitement is the fact that more and more people are hearing about God and all He has done for them.

Second, we’re getting ready to announce the 2010 dates for VELOCITY. Last year was incredible and we have some big plans to make VELOCITY 2010 even better. Come to The ELEMENT this Wednesday to be one of the first to know when camp is next summer.

If you’re a senior in High School you’ll want to be at The AVENUE this Sunday night as we announce the pricing and details for this year’s Senior Only Ski Trip. There are only twelve spots (six guys and six girls) available this year so make your plans now to be with us January 15-18, 2010.

If you have any questions or comments please contact us anytime. God bless.

This is something you do not want to miss out on.  Whether you’re a student, parent or NSM volunteer, do whatever you can to be at VELOCITY!  Here are the details:

When:  July 29 – Aug. 2

Where: Summerton, SC (Camp Bob Cooper) only 1 hour away on Lake Marion

Why:  To provide our students a unique opportunity to grow deeper in their relationship with God.

How Much:  $250 (That’s right! A week of camp for only $250)

Who:  All rising 6th through rising 12th graders.

This will be one of the moments you remember for the rest of your life.  While we’re going to have a ton of fun with the Lake (can you say Blob), gyms, fields, high and low ropes courses, fun is not our purpose here.  Each day of camp we will be providing large group worship and teaching followed by small group breakouts.  Over 30 students have already signed up.  Don’t miss your chance to be a part of this incredible experience.Velocity slide

Well everyone, AJ, Anita and I are leaving with the seniors Friday at 4pm. Feel free to come by the church and say goodbye. Sunday all environments are schedule as usual. We’ll be back on Monday (assuming we aren’t snowed or iced in.) Pray for us to have great weather and safe roads. As a matter of fact, pray that we’ll be safe on the mountain as well. We have a lot of first time skiers on this trip. I hope you Juniors are getting excited about how great this trip will be next year. That’s all for now. See you at The Element on Wednesday and we’d love to hear how God is using NSM to impact your life lately. Leave us a comment. Bundle up this weekend. It’s gonna be cold!!

We got off to an incredible start in our Christmas series Wednesday night at The Element.  We’re looking at three myths that surround Christmas and trying to find the Biblical truth in each area.  Week one we discovered that the only place you can find a “Picture Perfect Christmas or Family” is in the embrace and love of God.  Click here to see the bumper for “UNWRAPPED.”

Whatever your plans are for Wednesday night you’re going to want to make sure they include attending The Element.  Trust me, you do not want to miss this week at The Element.  We’re in the middle of a series called “RHYTHM” and we have some incredible stuff planned.  Beg your parents, drag your friends, do whatever you have to and get to Northwood Church at 7:15 pm Wednesday night.
